Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring continuously for about 5 minutes until completely melted and smooth.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm chocolate mixture with 1 cup of granulated sugar, stirring until well mixed. Whisk in 2 large eggs one at a time, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together ½ cup of all-purpose flour, ⅓ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the edges look set and the center remains slightly gooey.
  6. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before frosting.
