Ingredients
  

For the Casserole Base
  • 2 cups Cooked Chicken Can substitute with turkey or leftover roast chicken
  • 8 ounces Egg Noodles Can swap with penne, rotini, or rice
  • 1 can Cream of Chicken Soup Substitute with cream of mushroom if desired
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt can be used for a lighter option
For the Cheesy Goodness
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Mixing with mozzarella can enhance flavor
  • 4 strips Bacon Optional, can be omitted
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 1 cup Milk Unsweetened almond milk for dairy-free
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Can substitute with fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Can substitute with fresh onion
For Seasoning and Garnish
  • to taste Seasonings (Salt, Pepper, Paprika)
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions Optional garnish

Method
 

Casserole Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add egg noodles, and cook for 6-8 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fold cooked egg noodles into the creamy sauce, then stir in shredded chicken and half of the cheddar cheese and bacon.
  5. Pour the noodle mixture into the baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with remaining cheddar cheese and bacon.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.
