  • 1 cup Whole Milk Or heavy cream for a richer texture
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Optional
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Or Monterey Jack or pepper jack
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley For garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and paprika for 7-10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, whole milk (or heavy cream), and sour cream. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer the cooked beef mixture, followed by thinly sliced potatoes and pour the creamy sauce on top.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
