Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Start by soaking your cube steaks in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or better yet, overnight in the fridge.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour with your chosen seasonings. Whisk them together until evenly mixed.
  3. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Carefully add the coated cube steaks to the hot oil and fry each steak for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
  5. Remove the steaks from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, whisk in additional flour using the leftover drippings.
  6. To serve, place the fried steaks on warm plates and generously ladle the creamy pepper gravy over the top.
