Preparation Steps
- Begin by draining the extra-firm tofu, then wrap it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Place a heavy object on top, like a skillet, and let it press for at least 10 minutes.
- Once pressed, gently unwrap the tofu and use your hands to tear it into uneven chunks of about 1.5 to 2-inch pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and maple syrup.
- Gently toss the torn tofu pieces into the marinade, ensuring every piece is coated. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- For the oven method, preheat to 400°F (200°C), line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread the tofu, and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For air frying, preheat to 375°F (190°C) and cook the tofu for 15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- For skillet cooking, heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, add the tofu pieces, and sauté for about 7 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Once cooked, allow the bites to cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes
Press tofu well for at least 10 minutes to achieve maximum crispiness. Tear into uneven chunks for more crispy edges. Marinating longer intensifies flavor, keep watch on cooking time to prevent burning.
