  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Fresh

Step-by-Step Instructions for Authentic Crispy Falafel
  1. Soak 1 cup of dried chickpeas in cold water for 8-12 hours until fully swollen.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Blend with onion, parsley, cilantro, garlic, green chile, cumin, and cardamom until coarse.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and fold in chickpea flour and baking soda. Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.
  4. Shape the mixture into balls or patties.
  5. Fry in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes per side, or bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Drain excess oil on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauces.
