Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the challah or brioche bread into bite-sized cubes and spread them in the baking dish. Scatter the fresh blueberries on top.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard over the bread and blueberries and press down gently. Let it sit for 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden-brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with maple syrup and whipped cream, if desired.
