Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough to about ¼-inch thick and cut into circles for the calzone bases.
  3. Carve playful jack-o’-lantern faces into half of the dough circles.
  4. On plain dough circles, spread pizza sauce, layer mozzarella and toppings, leaving a border.
  5. Place carved circles on top, press edges to seal, and crimp with a fork.
  6. Beat an egg and brush it over the tops of the calzones.
  7. Bake calzones in the oven for about 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving with pizza sauce.
