Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, reduced sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and ground ginger until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is well combined. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and stir for about 1 minute until fragrant and golden.
  3. Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir frequently for about 3 to 5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef, then add 1 chopped green onion. Stir and let it simmer for about 2 minutes until heated through.
  5. Plate your Korean Ground Beef Bowl, garnishing with sesame seeds and remaining green onions. Serves over rice or in lettuce wraps.
