Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out your puff pastry until about 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares.
- Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each pastry square and fold the corners inward, sealing securely.
- Roll each filled pastry square into a tightly packed cylinder, bend into a U-shape, and place upright in a greased muffin tin.
- Heat neutral oil in a frying pan to 350°F (175°C), checking the temperature closely.
- Fry each cruffin halfway in the hot oil for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove cruffins and toss immediately in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar for coating.
- Serve warm and enjoy, optionally with vanilla ice cream or fresh fruit.
