Step-by-Step Instructions for Doritos Taco Salad
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning according to package instructions, allowing to marinate for 2-3 minutes before removing from heat.
  2. Wash and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Dice the tomatoes and slice the onions neatly on a cutting board.
  3. In a large salad bowl or individual serving dishes, layer the chopped lettuce as the base, followed by the seasoned ground beef, diced tomatoes, and sliced onions.
  4. Gently crush the Doritos and sprinkle them generously on top of the salad.
  5. Add shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and your favorite salsa to complete the dish. Drizzle with lime juice if desired.
