- Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing into wedges, about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.
- Make the caramel base by melting butter, stirring in brown sugar and cinnamon for 2-3 minutes. Pour into the greased cake pan.
- Arrange apple wedges over the caramel in a circular pattern.
- Prepare the cake batter by mixing flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl, cream sugar and eggs until fluffy, then add vanilla and milk. Combine the dry ingredients until just mixed.
