Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast in a large bowl. Let froth for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and melted butter. Knead for 6-8 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 1.5-inch pieces, flatten, and fill with cheese before sealing.
  5. Boil water with baking soda. Boil each bite for 30 seconds, removing with a slotted spoon.
  6. Brush each bite with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a couple of minutes before serving with dipping sauces.
