  • 2 cups Black Raspberries Fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust based on sweetness
  • 1 cup Water To dissolve sugar
For the Drink
  • 1/4 cup Black Raspberry Syrup Star ingredient
  • 2 cups Crushed Ice Keeps the drink cool
  • 2 cups Plain Sparkling Water Or club soda
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream For a richer texture

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine fresh or frozen black raspberries with sugar and water over medium-low heat. Cook for about 10 minutes until the berries soften and sugar dissolves.
  2. Transfer the cooked berry mixture into a blender, and blend until smooth for about 30 seconds.
  3. Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the blended berry mixture into a bowl or jar to remove seeds and pulp.
  4. In a tall glass, add a couple of tablespoons of your homemade black raspberry syrup. Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice.
  5. Pour in plain sparkling water or club soda, filling the glass to the brim. Add a splash of heavy cream on top.
  6. Gently stir the drink before serving to blend the flavors. Garnish with fresh raspberries or mint if desired.

Notes

Store leftover black raspberry syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Freeze syrup in ice cube trays for up to 3 months.
