Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by boiling 4 cups of filtered water until it's steaming but not boiling, around 175°F (80°C). Place 4 green tea bags or 4 tablespoons of loose leaf green tea into the hot water, and steep them for 3 minutes. If desired, stir in any matcha powder or sweetener like honey. Ensure you remove the tea bags to prevent bitterness, and let the brewed tea cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Once steeped, set the tea aside at room temperature for a few minutes or transfer it to a pitcher and refrigerate to cool quickly. Aim for a refreshing temperature.
  3. While the tea is cooling, prepare the tropical base by blending together 1 cup of fresh mango or mango juice and 1 cup of pineapple bits until smooth. Strain if you prefer a thinner mix, then combine with 1 cup of coconut water.
  4. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the tropical mix over this until the glass is three-quarters full. Gently top with the cooled iced green tea for a layered look.
  5. Add a slice of pineapple to each glass for presentation. Serve immediately while cold, offering a straw for sipping.
