Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, draining any excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  4. Layer thinly sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Spread the browned beef and aromatics mixture over the potatoes, and then sprinkle with cheddar and parmesan cheese.
  6. Pour beef broth or water around the edges of the baking dish, avoiding the cheese to keep it flavorful.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
