Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add 8 oz of sliced mushrooms and sauté for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Reduce the heat to low, add 8 oz of softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sour cream, and stir until smooth.
  3. Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella and 1/4 cup of Parmesan until melted. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Remove and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped thyme or parsley and serve warm.
