Preparation Steps
- Begin by washing and slicing 2 ripe peaches and 1 cup of strawberries. Combine the sliced fruit in a small pot along with 1 cup of filtered water, 1 cup of cane sugar, and the juice of 1 lemon.
- Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally to help dissolve the sugar. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
- After simmering, remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes. Carefully strain the syrup into a sealable container, discarding the solid fruit pieces.
- To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour 2 ounces of the chilled syrup over the ice and top off with 6 ounces of sparkling water.
- For a delightful finishing touch, consider garnishing your Strawberry Peach Soda with slices of fresh strawberries or peaches.
