Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in flour, cinnamon, and cloves until crumbly. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and roll out the chilled dough to ½ inch thick. Cut shapes with cookie cutters.
  3. Transfer to a baking sheet, refrigerate for 10 minutes, then apply a layer of fruit jam on each cookie.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  5. Sprinkle with sparkling sugar once cooled and serve the cookies.
