Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Thai Basil Beef Rolls
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil. Sauté the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Add soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, and chili flakes, mixing well; let it bubble for a minute to meld flavors.
  2. Once the beef mixture is well combined, remove it from heat and fold in chopped Thai basil. Slice vegetables like carrots or bell peppers into thin strips, and gather fresh herbs.
  3. To prepare the rice paper wrappers, fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Dip each wrapper into the water for about 10 seconds until it softens but remains slightly firm. Place the softened wrappers on a damp surface.
  4. In the center of each rice paper wrapper, lay down a piece of lettuce, a generous spoonful of the beef mixture, followed by sliced veggies and herbs. Tightly fold in the sides and roll it up snugly.
  5. Serve the assembled rolls with sweet chili sauce or a zesty lime-garlic fish sauce for dipping.
